“Through travelling, I have made the most amazing memories that will last a lifetime. I love creating moments for others to make those same lifetime memories through travel.” Maryke De Villiers, Owner
Mosaic Lagoon Lodge offers the ultimate luxury in high-end stays in the Overberg.
Stroll along a boardwalk that winds its way under a canopy of ancient Milkwood trees to a lounge where drinks and meals are served, next to a cosy fireplace.
The cuisine at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge is exquisite, courtesy of the creative mastery of the lodge's professional chef.
Breakfast in the country includes freshly baked muffins, homemade jams, fresh fruit and all the hot morning favourites such as tasty bacon and eggs.
Light lunches are served daily, platter-style, with a different menu each day.
Sumptuous dinners are planned around organic vegetables harvested from the lodge’s garden and locally-sourced seasonal ingredients.
Celebrating the wines of the region, Mosaic Lagoon Lodges' house wine is RAKA.

The heated plunge pool is the perfect spot to unwind, whether you’re birdwatching or enjoying a good book.
As evening settles in, the sky ignites with the colours of an African sunset. When night takes hold, a canopy of stars creates a magical backdrop to your holiday, and you can count your lucky stars in the magnificent constellations above.

In 2002, Breese and Kathryn Johnson from Tennessee, USA, bought Mosaic Lagoon Lodge’s 1,000-hectare property.
Although botanically and aesthetically unique, the property was being overrun by ecologically destructive invasive vegetation. Breese and Kathryn’s vision was to restore the biodiversity of the fragile ecosystem. Sharing the magnificent setting with appreciative guests came next, and so, Mosaic Lagoon Lodge was born.
In 2019, Breese and Kathryn transferred ownership of the five-star private getaway to long-time associate, Maryke De Villiers.
Maryke is proud to continue with the couple's vision of providing an exceptional retreat and ecological experience for guests.

“Our stay at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge was exquisite! Welcoming, gracious staff, breathtaking views, and impeccable attention to detail in the well-appointed rooms and facilities. Delicious food and drinks are always ready. They have activities, including kayaking and beach tours. We could not have received better, more personal care from our guides, who taught us so much during our nature walk and other adventures. Bravo!” Christine Davis
“Mosaic Lagoon Lodge is an absolutely stunning venue. It is in a fantastic location! The staff are all lovely and made us feel at home. We spent two nights at Mosaic, and it is one of the best lodges we have ever stayed at! The attention to detail is incredible. The food was simply delicious, and oh my, the view is breathtaking. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so wonderful. 5 stars!” Valentina Murabito
“Mosaic Lagoon Lodge is a rare find. The team is warm and made us feel relaxed and at home. The views over the lagoon are exceptional and a treat for bird watchers. There were many activities to choose from, including educational guided walks and drives in the open 4x4 to the beach. The food was tasty and beautifully presented.” Michelle CPT
“We had a lovely weekend at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge. Five suites ensure an intimate stay. There are no TVs! The staff are superb, and the chef spoiled us with lovely meals. Our guide was excellent. I will definitely go back.” Ronel Bredenkamp
“The accommodation at Mosaic Lagoon Lodge really is a dream. If you are a bird lover, you get your money's worth. In total, there are no more than ten guests on-site, which means very special service all-around.” Ralfleis
“We stumbled on Mosaic Lagoon Lodge a few years ago, and it’s the one place in the world we keep returning to. Five luxurious huts overlooking a lagoon. Very private and amazingly peaceful sitting on the deck watching all the birds. The 4x4 ride to the beach was exciting. The staff are wonderful and can’t do enough for you. We will be back!” Rubyvirkenhead
“The Mosaic Lagoon Lodge is a wonderful retreat away from the noise and rush of the 21st century. Its situation, in a milkwood forest on the edge of the Hermanus lagoon, is super-secluded, with wonderful views of the Overberg Mountains opposite and the abundant birdlife on the lagoon itself. The staff are incredibly welcoming, and the rooms are spotless. The food is excellent. Opportunities to explore the Walker Bay Nature Reserve on foot, or by MTB and 4x4 are outstanding.” Z73322
